Mission Statement

In order to further our purpose as a community of faith in God - creator, redeemer, and sustainer - we take as our mission:
to worship together to glorify God, professing God's grace and love;
to promote personal spiritual growth and stronger faith through education, prayer, challenging each other in love, and struggling and groping for a greater understanding of God;
to be a church which invites and welcomes all persons, celebrates their diversity of backgrounds, and protects their dignity and worth as humans;
to learn of and to share our religious heritage;
to proclaim the gospel of Jesus the Christ by word and deed;
to develop an ecumenical spirit of cooperation with other churches of the United Church of Christ and with churches of other denominations;
to be a family of believers who rejoice in each other's happiness, and support each other in times of trouble;
to work for peace through the resolution of conflict by prayer, negotiation, and mediation;
to teach respect for not only God's word but also for God's world;
to further social and economic justice for all people;
to engage in the church's wider mission to those who suffer from ignorance, hunger, illness, poverty, and homelessness in this community and throughout the world;
to rejoice that God has yet more light and truth to give to the world.
